OK, the 2011 "Just-How-Many-Ways-Can-You-Eat-Asparagus" journey has officially come to an end! Not because there isn't more local asparagus to be had, and not because I'm out of asparagus recipes to try, but because my garden is in full swing and asparagus must finally take a back seat to the other wonderful vegetables that are ready and waiting to be enjoyed - broccoli, cabbage, Swiss chard, spinach, new potatoes, etc. Plus, the novelty of fresh asparagus has understandably worn off. That's OK, though, because I'll be just as excited next spring I was this year to welcome it's arrival. So, I'll put away my asparagus recipe file until next year!
PS - This last batch of asparagus almost didn't get eaten; it had been sitting in the vegetable drawer and was almost past its prime. But, I'm so grateful for my friends' generosity in sharing their beautiful bounty with me which allowed me to try all 18 recipes!
